Clothing Tips For Women: How To Look Thin
Have you gained a few pounds recently and are just having a hard time hiding that extra weight? Or maybe you are a few months into your pregnancy and are not ready to show off your pregnant belly to the entire world. There are different ways to make that extra fat less obvious to the public. Of course, the best solution to that extra weight gained is exercise and nutrition. However, if you are a little self-conscious about your looks, you can attempt to hide those rolls with a few fashion tips.
The best way to go about making yourself look thinner is with darker colors. All black can be too hot for the springtime, but it will slim down your look. Lighter colors, like whites and beiges tend to show off more, but blacks and darker colors create a thinning illusion. If it is your tummy you want to hide, you can try to wear darker colored shirts. If you are looking to reduce the size of your rear, you may want to go for darker skirt or pant colors.
You always want to emphasize the parts of your body that you do like. If those areas are emphasized, less emphasis will be placed on those parts you want to hide. If you especially like your ankles and feet, you can try to wear knee length skirts and a cute pair of heels to accentuate that part of your body. If it is your arms you want to show off, you can wear shirts with lighter color sleeves.
Bigger women may find it more comfortable and stylish to wear wrap around dresses. It will give you a lengthening effect, rather than a widening effect. Pregnant women may also like this style of dress. You should never wear any clothing with horizontal stripes if you are trying to hide the fat in the center of your body. If you have a big chest and want to down play it a little, you can wear darker colored tops and ones that have higher necks, as to hide your cleavage.
The summertime is a difficult time to look thinner since more layers of clothing come off and you don’t want to necessarily start showing any skin. You can buy thin, light weight clothing, even in darker colors. The material matters a lot. Try to stick with light weight material in the summer and hotter parts of the year.
Women’s clothing can be difficult to shop for, especially if you have put on some extra weight. Pregnant women’s clothing may be hard to shop for, you just need to be looking in the right places. Keep in mind, pregnant women can also just wear big sizes in regular clothing and do not need to necessarily go to a store specifically tailored to pregnant women.
If you keep these tips in mind, it should help you short term. But, you ultimately want to try to stay as healthy as possible so you can feel comfortable wearing your normal wardrobe.
