How to Promote Your Clothing Store
To promote your clothing store you need to get the word to the people you want to come to your place of business. Word of mouth is great, but you need to take an active role yourself. Promoting your clothing business can have it’s costs but it doesn’t have to empty the coffers. Here are some ideas to promote your business that are fairly inexpensive.
Do you use the internet? you can place a post on bulletin boards. While you can’t place free advertisements, you can at least let folks know you are well versed in the clothing business and maybe send them to your store’s web site. If you do this, try to determine the bulletin boards activity level so you don’t waste your time and energy. Look for forums that are clothing related.
You sell woman’s clothing. Do you know someone who sells woman’s shoes or other accessories? Maybe you could get together and work out an advertising promotion that covers both your stores. Buy some fashion clothing from your store, get 10 percent off a pair of shoes from the shoe store. Buy a pair of shoes, get 10 percent of ladies clothes. If you have a good relationship with the company that sells bulk wholesale clothing or wholesale fashion clothes, maybe you can work out a deal with them.
I’m sure you must have business cards to let people know what you do and where you are located. Your letterheads should contain your address, store name, telephone number and web site. If you have a slogan, include it too. Don’t forget your envelopes, bill payments, faxes and E-Mail all need to have your stores information included.
Perhaps you could work with the company where you buy your wholesale ladies clothes or Missy wholesale dealer to put on a fashion show and/or seminar. For example, a seminar on the latest trends in ladies or Missy’s clothing, what goes with what, how to accessorize.
Billboards can be expensive but a magnetic sign on the side of your vehicle will not cost all that much. Smaller, local newspapers can be cost effective. I would advise a newspaper ad for your grand opening. You might offer some kind of giveaway or drawing.
There are a number of ways to promote your clothing store business that will cost more but can be effective. You can have fliers printed to make people aware of up-coming sales. You can place these fliers in many places. Bulletin boards, where you can post your fliers for free, are everywhere. Many supermarkets, Laundromats, restaurants and community centers have them. Instead of fliers you could have brochures printed but these will cost more.
Another way to promote your business is through mailings. You can have the previously mentioned brochures or postcards with your information printed. It is possible to buy mailing lists on line. You search for mailing lists of people in your area that buy woman’s clothing. You may be surprised to learn that, not only can you obtain such a list, but you can buy pre-addressed labels to stick on the brochures or postcards. This can save you a lot of time but costs a little more. As long as we are talking about spending a little more to promote your business, don’t forget there is local TV and radio to consider.
